Highlights from 2023!

We expanded to separate the Preschool into an age 2/3 room and an age 4/5 room last year. One person who has been instrumental in executing all things curricular is Ms. Faith Protasio. Thank you to Faith & Jayme for their weekly assistance and camaraderie in the CM area.

In June, we hosted a 5-Day Club at LGCC instead of our typical VBS as in years past. We felt this to be a great option as it encourages parents and other adults to host a 5-day Club in their own communities as we Go to the Lost. A number of our students made up a large part of the team that ran the 5-Day Clubs with 8 clubs being hosted from our congregation throughout Lake County in July & August.

As many of you are aware, my 13-year tenure here at LGCC is coming to an end. During Covid, while doing Children's Ministry from home, I realized how much I enjoyed interacting with the kids. I began pursuing a master’s in elementary education, subbing at my local school on my off days and now am nearing completion of my degree. I have now entered into my student teaching and plan to begin teaching full-time this year in the Fall. The plan for the children’s ministry is to move to a volunteer leadership team approach which I will be able to get up to speed prior to my departure.
