July 20-24, 2020

In conjunction with VBS, our LGCC Jr. High & Sr. High students will be equipped and encouraged to serve and reach out to others with the love of Christ.  Students will serve at VBS in the morning and then spend the afternoon serving together and growing together in relationships with others and with Christ.  Activities may include visiting nursing homes, serving at food pantries and FMSC, doing fun stuff like a locked room together and praying for others at the local mall.  Most days will end before dinner and students entering 7th grade through 12th grade are all welcome.

EDGE is our dynamic, energetic and community-based youth ministry for middle school and high school students to explore faith in Jesus Christ and how to fulfill His will for their lives.

EDGE 3E Vision

By the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, we:

  1. Encourage non-believers to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior (John 1:12-13)
  2. Equip new believers with God’s Word (2 Tim. 3:16)
  3. Empower mature believers to take on Christ’s ministry and succeed (1 Cor. 12:12-31, 2 Tim. 2:1-2).

EDGE –Jr.High & Sr. High Together

During the Summer --we meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:45pm (on most Tuesdays, unless we are doing a special ministry or event). We spend much of the time outside playing various team-building games/sports, but we also investigate and apply God's Word, spend time in worship and prayer as well as connecting with one another in small groups. Students have a chance to discover and share who they are---their joys, struggles, hurts, questions and passions.

We welcome you to come and do life in Christ with us. Students are invited to come early for various sports and games at 6pm.  Many students stick around to hang out and connect with each other until 9pm.  Please contact Pastor Tony for more information.

Why EDGE? Students at this age are on the EDGE of entering into adulthood. They are also at the precipice of making decisions that will have an eternal and lifelong impact. It is our prayer that they will make that step of faith and embrace the journey God has for them.

Summer Series

Our Summer Series is entitled “REASONS TO BELIEVE”  ---How Do We Know That Christianity Is True?   Each week different students will be making presentations on this topic and we will be diving into these Reasons:  Jesus, the Bible, Worldviews, Experience, Nature and Reason.    Our theme verse is:    But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.   I Peter 3:15

the book of james via zoom

This Spring and now Summer we have been going through the Book of James with Francis Chan on Zoom with the Jr. High and Sr. High students separately.    We are halfway through our study and will continue to do these throughout the summer on Zoom.

Times to be announced.

S.O.S. Opportunities

S.O.S. (Service over Self) is a ministry that helps our students to recognize needs outside of just themselves. We are always looking to equip our students with opportunities to go out and serve those in the community who find themselves in need. We recently took a group to Faith Acres Sharing Pantry in Island Lake.   Contact Pastor Tony for more info about upcoming S.O.S. opportunities.
